Sayonara Japon , Part 1

Day 1 , After a sleepless night we finally arrived at Takayama, but it would take another couple of hours before we reach the village that looks like Kyoto and our hotel.

Day 2, Kamikochi, the most beautiful scenery i have ever seen in Japan. The 3km hike to the half point was worth it!

Shirakawago, Houses made from straw from the edo period. 100s of years ago. Its a natural heritage site. My mom in law said it reminded her of "Attap house"-the asian version , usually found at kampung (village) ages long ago. Only bigger. ;)

Under the roof, the strawsEvery 50 years they renovate.
An original home, turned into a cafe. The cafe is 33years.

Day 3, Matsumoto Castle. I really could not climb the castle as the stairs were quite far apart.
